Ingredients
White, short grain, raw rice - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 3 tablespoon + for spreading
Powdered Jagerry - 1/2 cup
Method
1. Roast the raw rice in a pan over medium flame till the ccolour slightly changes. This will take around 1- - 12 minutes.
2. Let it cool down. Meanwhile melt the jaggery and strain to remove the impurities.
3. Once cooled,grind the raw rice to a slightly coarse powder.
4. Heat ghee in a pan andadd the ground raw rice powder and roast well in low to medium flame.
5. Now add the melted jagerry and mix well till everything is well combined.
6. Then switch off the flame,stir the mixture for a second till jaggery is melted completely.Put this mixture into the ghee greased plate and level it with the back of spatula or use a polythene sheet.
7. After 2-3 minutes, mark the shapes using a knife.Leave it aside for 10 minutes. Now you can easily remove the sweet from the plate.It tastes good after it is cooled down completely.
Gud papdi can be kept in an air tight container for up to a week.
