Maida/ All purpose flour - 1 cup
Fennel seeds - 2 tablespoon
Shallots - 10 no:s
Coconut oil - for deep frying
Salt - to taste
Water - 1 cup
1. Heat water in a pan by adding salt to it, when it boils, add maida and simmer the flame and stir well for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
2. When it cools, add fennel seeds and chopped shallots.
3. Knead it to very smooth dough. Roll the prepared dough into a thick big pathiri. Cut out many small round pathiris from this using a lid or glass with sharp edge.
4. Deep fry these pathiris in coconut oil in medium to low flame till it slightly golden brown in color.
Serve warm with any non- vegetarian curry of choice.
