Potato - 2 medium (boiled and mashed)
Onion - 1 medium ( chopped)
Green chilies - 2 no:s ( chopped)
Red chilly powder - 1 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Asafoetida - a pinch
Chick pea / besan flour - 1/2 cup
Rice flour - 1 table spoon
Salt - to taste
Oil - for frying ( Coconut oil works best)
Method
1. Mix besan, rice flour, salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida / hing and little water and make a thick paste.
2. In a separate bowl, mix mashed potato, chopped onion,green chilies and salt and make small balls,
3. Dip the potato balls in the besan mixture ( coat them nicely) and deep fry in hot oil on medium heat.
Serve hot with tea
