Ingredients
Black Bean - 1/2 cup
Kidney Bean / Rajma - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 (Medium)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Ginger - 1 tsp (minced)
Garlic - 1 tsp (minced)
Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Whole Garam masala -- Cloves - 2
Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
Star anissed - 1
Bay leaf - 1
Method
1. Soak the black beans and kidney bean for at least 1 hour and cook them in a pressure cooker with salt.
2. Cut the onion in cubes and grind it along with ginger, garlic and whole garam masala to coarse paste.
3. Heat oil in a pan, saute the the onion paste till the raw smell is gone.
4. Add the roast tomato and roast well.
5. Add the red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and roast well for 5 minutes.
6. Add the cooked black bean and kidney bean with the water and cook till the desired consistency. Add salt if necessary.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Serve warm with rice or roti.
