Ingredients
Channa / Garbanzo beans - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 medium (Chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Green Chiily - 2 (Chopped)
Ginger - garlic paste - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Lime juice - 1 table spoon
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Method
1. Soak the chole in water for 8-9 hrs or overnight
2. Pressure cook the chole for 4 - 5 whistles.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Saute the chopped onions till translucent.
4. Add the chopped green chillies and the ginger - garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears.
5. Add the chopped tomato and roast well.
6. Add the red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and turmeric powder and roast well.
7. Add the chole with water and mix well.
8. Once the water dries, add garam masala powder, coriander leaves, lime juice and sugar and mix well.
Serve hot with rice or any bread of choice
